Surgery is no substitute for exercise, and overall weight loss should not be the goal of liposuction. For most of us, however, even the most rigorous training regimen still leaves us with areas of our bodies with which we’re unhappy. At our four offices in Marin County, Sonoma County, and the Sacramento area, we use liposuction to remove these localized fatty deposits that don’t seem to respond to exercise.
For proper candidates, the results of liposuction can seem almost miraculous. During your consultation at our Marin County or Sacramento-area location, you’ll find that our practice is dedicated to giving patients the most honest assessment of their suitability for the procedure. Liposuction, or lipoplasty, cannot eliminate cellulite or correct loose, hanging skin. The best candidates for the procedure are patients who have healthy, elastic skin with the capacity to shrink evenly after surgery. Less elastic skin can be corrected with additional body contouring.
At your liposuction consultation at our Marin County or Sacramento-area location, Dr. Henry can help you make sense of all these factors and identify the most effective treatment option.
During the procedure, a small suction tube called a cannula is inserted through small, inconspicuously placed incisions, and is used to remove fat from the affected area. Commonly targeted areas are the neck, upper arms and armpits, trunk, abdomen, hips, thighs, inner knees, calves, and ankles. At our Marin County and other Northern California offices, liposuction is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis.
If you have problem areas that don’t respond to diet and exercise and would like to know if you’re a good candidate for the procedure, contact Dr. Henry’s Marin County, Sonoma County, or Sacramento-area offices for additional liposuction information.
